THIS CANNOT, THAT CANNOT – GO LIVE IN A CAVE IF EVERYTHING IS FORBIDDEN: JOHOR SULTAN MOCKS ‘NARROW MINDED’ UMNO & PAS ZEALOTS

PETALING JAYA – Speaking out against those who wish to forbid many things under the pretense of religion, Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar stressed “there is no place for narrow-mindedness” in the state.
In his speech at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia’s 17th convocation ceremony on Saturday (Oct 14), the Sultan said that those who cannot live harmoniously in society should live in a cave.
He pointed out that such overzealous constraints would make living in a community impossible.
“When banknotes may have been held by a pork seller or alcohol seller, does the Government have to make Muslims-only money?
His Majesty was speaking in regards to the case of a Muslim-only laundrette in Muar.
He also struck out at Muslim preacher Zamihan Mat Zin who recently criticised him over the case.
Referring to him as an “empty vessel”, he said Zamihan talked arrogantly, mocked other races and denied his actions after being criticised by the public.
He also said he would direct the Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAIJ) to stop dealing with the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) and to carry out their own to carry out checks on Muslim preachers in the state.
