ZAHID’S ‘TEAM B’ TAKES A SWIPE AT NAJIB’S HISHAM MOVE: NAZRI SAYS ‘NO FAVORITISM’ IN UMNO, INVITES DR M, MUHYIDDIN, MUKHRIZ TO RETURN IN SLAP TO NAJIB

Following accusations that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) practices favouritism, Umno supreme council member Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said this culture did not come from Umno.

“There is nothing wrong with Umno. It is them (Bersatu).

“It has got nothing to do with Umno. It is their culture (of favouritism). Mahathir, Muhyiddin and Mukhriz’s culture,” Nazri said to reporters after attending a Bangladeshi New Year’s festival in Kuala Lumpur today.

Bersatu is failing because of this culture, he said, and also because the top three leaders – Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad, president Muhyiddin Yassin and deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir – are not attractive characters to potential members.

Nazri said Bersatu is not the first Umno splinter party, citing the Semangat 46 and PKR.

The tourism and culture minister added that like the others, Bersatu will not be able to bring down Umno.

“I think they (Bersatu leaders) knew this but they were motivated by anger and vengeance, so much so that they were blinded to all this but we knew it all along,” he said.

Nazri: Bersatu members free to re-join Umno after ‘misadventure’

Those who joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) are always welcome back in Umno after their “misadventure”, said Umno supreme council member Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.

“We are very forgiving, okay? Those who have strayed, the door is also open to them, they can come back.

“If they have regrets and have repented, come back. After all, the party is for all bumiputera.

“If they want to come back, come back. It is a misadventure,” Nazri told reporters after officiating a Bangladeshi New Year’s festival in Kuala Lumpur today.

Bersatu, an Umno splinter, is headed by sacked Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin.

The chairperson is former Umno president Dr Mahathir Mohamad while Mahathir’s son and former Kedah Umno Mukhriz Mahathir is Bersatu number two.

Mukhriz was also sacked from Umno, while Mahathir resigned in protest of 1MDB, the brainchild of Umno president and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak embroiled in a financial scandal.
