Maybank, Bank Islam offer six-month moratorium for loans to Penang’s flood victims
KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 7): Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) and Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd have announced a six-month moratorium on monthly instalment payments for loans, and waiver of certain charges, based on a case-to-case basis, for customers in Penang who are affected by the floods.
Maybank said the suspension of payments are extended to business banking, SME banking and consumer banking customers.
Its president and CEO, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias, said the moratorium was in line with Maybank's mission of humanising financial services, wherever it operates.
