Ding: My hard work and sincerity will shine through
KUCHING: Barisan Nasional candidate for Meradong Ding Kuong Hiing believes he stands a ‘good chance’ to recoup the seat in the 11th state election.
Met by reporters after being announced as the BN-SUPP candidate, he said he would work very hard during the election campaign period.
Asked how he planned to win back Meradong, Ding said: “Just work hard, and show them that I am sincere.”
He added that people of Meradong were aware of how much he had contributed in the last eight years.
He believed the issue of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College would not be an obstacle during the campaign.
“It’s not really a big issue and people know that it is not me who promised to do the project.”
In last general election, Ding lost Sarikei to DAP’s Andrew Wong. The university college was one of the issues the opposition raised against BN.
