PETALING JAYA: Federal minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan has promised more exposés about the controversial Taman Manggis land deal in Penang and the purchase of a double-storey bungalow for RM2.8 million by the state’s chief minister Lim Guan Eng in 2012.

Abdul Rahman and Lim were to have taken part in a debate on the issue, to be televised live on Tuesday. However he said today he would comply with police advice not to prejudice the investigations as key witnesses, including Lim, had not been interviewed.

However, he promised that “with the help of concerned Penangites and whistleblowers from within the establishment, there will be more exposés.”

He would also join hands with Gerakan and Barisan Nasional politicians in Penang to conduct road shows to “explain the double scandals” to Penang people.

He congratulated his dedicated and enthusiastic BN strategic team who had been working tirelessly to expose the deals in the last few months to compile “irrefutable proof” about the two deals.

Last week Abdul Rahman revealed documents that appeared to indicate a planned sale of shares in Kuala Lumpur International Dental Centre for RM70 million. The company had bought the land for RM11.2 million in 2012, and Abdul Rahman said the sale of the company was equivalent to a sale of the land.

He said on Twitter that next week he would surrender to the police “all our documentary proofs which I originally planned to show in the debate.”

Questions were raised in Parliament last month about whether Lim had bought the bungalow at below market value and whether the state government had sold the Taman Manggis land to KLIDC also at below market value. Questions were also asked about the link between the businesswoman who sold Lim the bungalow who was a former employee and current business partner of the majority shareholder of KLIDC.
