Earth Day at Crown Square sees trade-in of 3,000kg newspapers
KUCHING: The 6th Earth Day Recycle Campaign organised by Crown Square shopping centre, The Borneo Post, Utusan Borneo and See Hua Daily News to mark World Earth Day received a good response from the public.
Some 101 people turned up for the programme, where a total of 3,030kg of newspapers was collected.
Members of the public exchanged 30kg of old newspapers for either a 370g of Royal-B honey or two packs of Daddy Mee Kari (10x80g); or four packets of assorted wafer biscuits or cracker sandwich. The exchange is limited to 60kg per person.
The annual one-day exchange was held at the entrance of Crown Square from 10am to noon.
It was held to commemorate World Earth Day, which falls on April 22.
