‘Exercise and a balanced diet essential for health’
SIBU: More than 500 residents from Grand Heights residential area attended the free health screening campaign for cholesterol and glucose tests held at Su Kuok Garden at Upper Lanang here yesterday.
The screening session from 7.30am till 11am was run by the Grand Heights community association and graced by the chairman of Sibu Municipal Council Datuk Tiong Thai King.
Also present was the association’s chairman Tiong Chong Ting.
In his address, Thai King, who is also Barisan Nasional candidate for Dudong, advised the people to stay healthy by exercising regularly and eating a balanced diet.
“We should make it a norm to exercise regularly to keep fit and healthy. We should try as best as possible to avoid eating unhealthy food. In the course of our life, of course we should go for health screening as prevention is better than cure. It is wise to keep track of our health to ensure a longer life,” he said.
Thai King also praised the association for organising such a meaningful event to benefit the people.
He hoped the association would continue to hold the programme from time to time and to include it in its annual activities.
