Camp outside Parliament if fuel prices rise again – Amanah Youth to Malaysians

Amanah has urged Malaysians to gather outside the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur if fuel prices rise again at the stroke of midnight.
Youth vice-chief Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin said the gathering should take place until Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak agrees to lower the pump prices.
“If fuel prices increase again for this week, it will be the record highest since prices were determined based on the MOPS (Means of Platts Singapore).
“The Youth wing warns that fuel prices should be reduced this week by at least seven sen,” Shazni added in a media statement this afternoon.
Last Wednesday, pump prices for RON95 went up by seven sen to RM2.31 per litre while RON97 increased by six sen to RM2.60 per litre.
This was the highest since the introduction of the weekly fuel price system.
Meanwhile, the price of diesel went up by three sen to RM2.20 per litre.
The last time petrol prices hit a record high under the new system was on April 20 when RON95 was RM2.27 per litre while RON97 was RM2.54 per litre.
As for diesel, the highest pump price recorded so far was on April 20 at RM2.21.
The weekly fuel price system was implemented on March 30. The new prices are announced every Wednesday and come into effect at midnight.
It is determined by global oil prices based on the MOPS and the ringgit's strength against the US dollar.- Mkini
