AZMIN NOW A SERIOUS LIABILITY TO HARAPAN – NAJIB HAS HIM BY THE ACHILLES HEEL: MB’S NEPHEW’S REMAND EXTENDED UNTIL FRIDAY
PUTRAJAYA – The remand of a nephew of Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has been extended to Friday (Dec 8).
Magistrate Norhidayati Mohammad Nasroh allowed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)’s request for further time to investigate allegations of the 34-year-old’s involvement in illegal sand mining activities in Selangor.
A 67-year-old company director, who was detained along with Azmin’s nephew and two others on Nov 30, also had his remand extended to Friday.
Their remand was supposed to expire Wednesday.
Azmin’s nephew was represented by lawyer Gobind Singh Deo.
The MACC are investigating claims that the four have raked in huge profits from illegal sand mining activities in Selangor since 2014.
As part of the investigation, several lorries and bank accounts with cash amounting to RM4mil, have been seized.
