AMANAH LEADER’S SON CHASED TO THE GROUND BY POLICE, ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF ‘PIL KUDA’ DRUGS – REPORTS
POLICE have remanded the son of an Amanah leader for being in possession of 200 methamphetamine pills, or “pil kuda”, in front of a house in Jalan Pasir Mas-Salor, Kampung Jelutong, yesterday, reported Utusan Malaysia.
The Amanah leader, according to Utusan, is a lawmaker.
The 29-year-old suspect was arrested by a team from the Kota Baru narcotics division around 3.30pm.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ismail Mat Sidik confirmed the arrest, and said the suspect was brought to the Kota Baru court for a remand order.
“The suspect has been remanded for four days, beginning today, to assist in police investigations after 200 methamphetamine pills were found in his right trouser pocket.”
Astro Awani reported that the suspect tried to escape by running to the side of the house when he was approached by police.
During the pursuit, the suspect fell to the ground and tried to resist arrest when officers tried to search him, Awani quoted Ismail as saying.
Police found a blue plastic bag wrapped in white tissue, containing 198 red pills and two green ones.
