Hadi : DAP’s ‘slave’ Amanah poses no threat to PAS
PETALING JAYA: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) does not pose a big challenge to PAS in the upcoming Sarawak election, says the Islamist party’s president Abdul Hadi Awang.
He was quoted in the New Straits Times calling Amanah lawmakers, who are mainly former PAS members, as the “slaves” of DAP.
He claimed that even Sarawak voters were aware of the situation.
“We do not see Amanah posing a big challenge to us during the upcoming (state) elections. Most people in the state (Sarawak), especially the Muslims, are aware that Amanah are DAP’s slaves.”
PAS has fielded 11 of its candidates for the Sarawak elections with popular Iban singer and recording artiste Clement Bayang named as the party’s first non-Muslim candidate for the Kakus seat.
The Sarawak legislative assembly is expected to be dissolved on April 11, paving the way for the state election.
