Setelah versi jalan rayanya diperkenalkan, kini versi perlumbaan Ford GT pula didedahkan, diberi nama Ford GT Competition Series. Seperti juga model-model versi litar lain, Competition Series ini dibina lebih ringan berbanding model standard, tetapi Ford masih belum mendedahkan berapa berat yang dapat dikurangkan.
Bahagian luaran, tiada perubahan ketara dapat dilihat pada versi perlumbaan ini. Tetapi jika diteliti lebih terperinci, dapat diperhatikan jalur perlumbaan hitam merentasi badan kereta ini sebenarnya merupakan kemasan gentian-karbon, begitu juga pada cermin sisi, tiang-A dan juga kemasan bahagian bawah badan.
Cermin Gorilla Glass yang terletak pada bahagian belakang kabin juga separuh lebih nipis (dan juga lebih ringan) berbanding model standard. Tiada peredam gas dipadankan untuk menahan penutup enjin acrylic ketika ia dibuka, dan ia kini digantikan dengan penahan gentian-karbon, bagi merendahkan lagi berat keseluruhan serta pusat graviti kereta ini.

Kelengkapan seperti rim gentian karbon serta nat roda dan ekzos titanium yang ditawarkan sebagai opsyen untuk model biasa, diberikan secara standard untuk Competition Series ini. Enam warna badan ditawarkan iaitu Shadow Black, Frozen White, Ingot Silver, Liquid Blue, Liquid Grey dan Triple Yellow.
Pada bahagian kokpit, GT Competition Series dilengkapi roll cage spesifikasi FIA serta upholtsteri Alcantara pada tempat duduk, panel instrumen, serta kemasan bumbung. Ia turut diberikan roda stereng ala-F1 sama seperti model standard. Sebagai sebuah model yang dibina untuk litar, model istimewa ini tidak dilengkapi penghawa dingin, sistem audio, dan juga pemegang cawan, bagi mengurangkan lagi beratnya.
Ford GT Competition Series masih dijana oleh enjin V6 3.5 liter EcoBoost yang berupaya menjana 647 hp dan tork maksima 746 Nm.
