BN looks to reclaim its Pujut and Piasau seats
MIRI: Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) wants to reclaim its Pujut and Piasau seats and obtain a bigger majority for Senadin during the 11th state election.
Its chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem said the three seats in Miri were BN strongholds before Pujut and Piasau were lost to DAP in the last state election.
Although the Chinese voters expected would be split in Pujut, Adenan said BN could win the seat with strong support from the Bumiputera in the constituency.
Thus, he wanted the Bumiputera voters to stay united and rally behind direct BN candidate Datuk Hii King Chiong.
Some 4,000 people and members of Malaysia Welfare & Dakwah Islamiah (Pekida) Miri attended the gathering at Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club yesterday (May 1).
Also present were PBB’s publicity chief Datuk Yusuf Sani Wahab, Miri Resident Antonio Kahti Galis , Miri mayor Lawrence Lai and chairman of Pekida Miri Lias Julaihi.
