Water level at Timah Tasoh Dam decreases
KANGAR: The heavy rainfall for the last three days throughout Perlis has not increased the water level in the Timah Tasoh Dam which has infact dropped by 0.04 metres to 26.10 metres today.
Director of the Perlis Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Abdul Najib Abdullah said this was because the rainfall was not within the dam areas but outside it.
Abdul Najib said the reading for the water level at the dam yesterday was 26.14 metres.
“As such, people living in the northern areas of Perlis must continue to conserve water to extend the supply in the affected areas. Other than that, we can only pray,” he told Bernama when contacted today.
Since April 16, an estimated 13,000 domestic account holders were affected by the rationing and distribution of treated water supply in north Perlis, covering areas in Wang Kelian, Kaki Bukit, Titi Tinggi, Beseri and Abi.
Meanwhile, Director of the Perlis Meteorological Department Muhammad Khalil Ab Aziz when contacted said the temperature in the state as of 2 pm yesterday was 33.5 degrees Celsius.
