Lopeng firemen help man to remove ring
MIRI: Three fire crew from Lopeng Fire Station were called to remove a stainless steel ring stuck on a man’s ring finger yesterday afternoon.
The 27-year-old man who did not wish to be named went to Miri hospital for help to remove the ornament around 12pm.
When medical personnel failed to remove the stubborn ring, it prompted them to call up the firemen for help at about 12.12pm.
It took the firemen 20 minutes to cut off the ring from the man’s ring finger on the right hand.
He had worn the ring for the past three months, before his finger started swelling up for no apparent reason.
“I realised my ring finger becoming swollen day after day for the past three months, so I went to hospital for assistance,” said the man.
