SIBU: PBB Youth will help ensure Bumiputera voters, especially those who are staunch supporters of BN, come out and cast their vote this coming state election.
Its chief Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof pointed out this is essential in securing a convincing win for BN.
“Yes, we know that in certain areas, particularly in Bawang Assan in Sibu, it is important to make sure that the turnout of Bumiputera voters, especially those who are strong supporters of BN, to go out and vote.
“This is critical in so many other places in Sarawak,” he told reporters when asked if PBB Youth should make it their responsibility to ensure good voter turnout.
He was met after officiating at PBB Youth Sibu’s Solidarity Night on Saturday, which was attended by some 1,000 PBB Youth members here.

Fadillah, who is state BN Youth chief, added: “As far as PBB is concerned, we have a strategy to make sure turnout would be better this time around.
“We really want to help all component parties, not only in making sure that PBB win handsomely, but all the other components will be together in winning this election.”
Stressing on the importance of winning convincingly, the Petra Jaya MP said a big win would mean a bigger mandate for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem who needed a bigger voice to negotiate with the federal government on the devolution of power and more financial allocation.

A landslide majority would also send a strong signal to the opposition that they were not wanted in the state, he pointed out.
Earlier in his speech, Fadillah stressed to those present the importance of solidarity.
“We must be solid in our unity as well as in moving our machinery.”
He also emphasised on the importance of political stability to lure more investors.
Nangka assemblyman and PBB Nangka chairman Dr Annuar Rapaee also spoke at the function.
On the good turnout, Dr Annuar said it showed that the younger generation were pro-BN.
The welcoming address was delivered by PBB Youth state exco member Abdul Ghani Sulhi.
