Yap all ready to fight for Kota Sentosa
KUCHING: SUPP’s Wilfred Yap, who is the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Kota Sentosa, has pledged to give his best to wrest the constituency from DAP in the upcoming state election.
He is also confident there would be a straight fight come polling day, as it appears that no other party has shown interest to contest in Kota Sentosa — currently held by state DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen.
“I’m also confident that it’s going to be a one-on-one fight between SUPP and DAP in Kota Sentosa,” Yap said when met at a forum on ‘Cyber Security’ at Riverside Majestic Hotel here recently organised by ‘Rakan Best Nye Sarawak’.
He also said SUPP would be heading to the ground and explaining to the people about the solidity of BN and why they should vote for the coalition, instead of the opposition which had always been ‘barking up the wrong tree’ when it came to a number of issues.
“Opposition leaders would always say that they cannot do this or that because they are not part of the government. This is not true because every time they are in the State Legislative Assembly, they are already part of the government and should be serving the people,” he stressed.
Yap is among 11 BN candidates from SUPP as confirmed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, who is also state BN chairman.
