Man caught with pilfered t-shirts, handbag at mall

MIRI: A man in his late 30’s ended up in police custody after he was caught red-handed with stolen t-shirts and a RM200 handbag at a shopping mall in Jalan Bintang here yesterday morning.
It was learnt that the suspect attempted to elude the shopping complex’s security personnel with the allegedly pilfered items after they spotted him fidgeting.
The incident was reported around 10am. They later handed the suspect to police for further action.
According to one of the security personnel when met by The Borneo Post, she spotted the suspect behaving in a suspicious manner and tried to escape via the back door of the building.
“I immediately chased up on him and at the same time alerting others (security personnel) for assistance,” said the unnamed personnel.
